Update on Saturday's Craft show...
The place was busy! Lots of lookers- but not many buyers. I did ok- but as usual- I could always go for more! :) I sold a few cards and the large therapy bags. I had lots of lookers at the squash books. I think if I have more of an inventory of them- they would sell... So- my job this week is to make at least 4 more squash books and 4 more therapy bags. Lets hope this Saturday turns out well!

Welcome Baby Elizah Rose!
Well last night baby girl Elizah Rose came into this world. I had the opportunity to make another fun baby basket! This time it was for a girl! I had more time to work on this one. I used Plantin Schoolbook and Potpourri Basket cartridges with my cricut expression. I also used 3-d embellishment stickers from It's a Girl Light Idea K&Co. and pink sweet feet from Best Occasions. I used martha stewart calla lily ribbon and also Michaels pink and brown plaid ribbon. I had lots of fun with this one and can't wait to make another!

I haven't been doing alot with my craft stuff lately. Lots of projects to do with my daughter, but I did manage to put together a squash book... It's a rough draft. I will post pics of some when I get some better ones together. I hope they sell well at the next two craft shows we have! The next craft show to find me at will be:

What a disappointment!
Yesterday was the first craft show of 2009 for me, and boy was it BRUTAL! We had lots of people browsing- but not many buyers. My mom and my aunt also shared the booth with me, so they could sell their crafts too. It looks like the economy is really putting us crafters/vendors in a hard position! I sold 2 blank cards and a set of gift tags. My mother sold 1 candle, and my aunt had the better results than we did. She crochets, and had LOTS to choose from. She sold some dish towels, baby bibs, and some slippers. I hope the next craft show on April 18th does MUCH better. I think I will start to get discouraged otherwise! This week I would like to work on making some "squash books." I am hopeful of them, and think they will be a great addition to the things I sell at my craft events! I will keep you all posted when I finish one! I will be trying to be green with them and using recycled cereal boxes for the fronts and backs. It could be successful! (See- I am trying to be optimistic!)

Hot/Cold Therapy Bags
I've been working on a new project of Hot and Cold Therapy bags. They are made from Wisconsin Corn, and can be used as heating pads or Ice packs.
I will be selling them at my first craft show tomorrow at Bethany Church in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I hope they turn out, and sell well. I will also be selling my greeting cards, premade scrapbook pages, and if I have time to make some- some gift tags as well.
If you live in the area- here's the info if you are interested in going...

Happy Birthday to my daugher who is 7 today!
I made a centerpiece basket for her birthday party on Saturday. I added a little stuffed puppy in it, and some suckers as well (not shown). I had fun with it and will definately be doing this more often. I would like to make an Easter one as well. I used the Plantin School Book and Potpourri Basket Cartridges with my Cricut Expression. I love that thing the more I use it! I also made my daughter's birthday cake too.

Long time
Sorry it has been so long- a week I think! I've been preparing my household for my daughters birthday party this weekend! I've also been dealing with a sick son. I will post when I am finished making my daughter's birthday centerpiece. I have bought the wooden skewers hoping that will look nicer- and be easier to work with! Sorry to keep everyone waiting!

Baby Boy Centerpiece
I am behind- almost an entire week! Sorry for the suspense everyone! I made a centerpiece yesterday for a little boy that was born yesterday. Welcome to the world Robert Michael! I made this all with the Potpourri Basket cartridge- all sized at 3 1/2". I used stickles to add a little jazz to it, and some buttons as well. It was fun to make! I need to get those wooden sticks that everyone else seems to use- I used what I had, which were straws. Mommy of the new baby loved it! I had lots of fun making it! Will definately be doing this again!

I have been seeing some great ideas on the cricut message board- and created a set of blank notecards yesterday. I used stamping ink to edge all of the cards. They are measured 4x4, and I made matching envelopes for them as well! They are all made with the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. I will definately be making more cards and such with this cartridge! There are endless possibilites! Today I will be working on the Daring cardmakers card. That should be fun- I've never made this kind of card before!

I'm slackin a bit...
Sorry to keep you all waiting for the next crafts I've created! I've been busy checking out all of the amazing help for this butterfly project. So far- there is a possibility that my daughters entire first grade class and the rest of the first graders in her school may be creating some beautiful butterflies for this wonderful project! There is also a possibility of her 4-H club doing this as well!
I have made a few more cards. I made a set of 4 neutral invitations (not pictured), and 2 cards. One with flowers and ribbon, blank inside, and the other is a welcome baby card.

Feeling the need to participate...
I was browsing some blogs while on my favorite cricut website when I stumbled upon a wonderful opportunity for anyone to help! Limelight Scrappers had started this- but they had a cut off date of today to be mailed. The project continues for quite a while- but I think it's a wonderul thing for people of all ages to contribute! Check out this site and see if you would like to help us! If you are interested in sending the butterflies to me- comment me with an email address or email me at youngsscrapping@gmail.com and I will send you the address to send your beautiful butterflies to me. I will combine them into one package to send all at once! Let your minds run free!
There are a few restrictions:
Butterflies should be no larger than 8x10 inches
Butterflies can be of any medium- but 2-d is preferred
Glitter should not be used
Food products should not be used
I want to thank Limelight Scrappers for showing this wonderful opportunity for people to participate- and would love to continue the project for the rest of you crafters out there! I will be asking my daughters class and 4-H club if they would also like to participate! I hope we can get lots of responses like the Limelight scrappers did!
I would like to set a date for this because I do have a child to be born in late July- I'd like to have all of your beautiful butterflies mailed by June 8th, 2009.

I got 3 done instead of two! YAY!
Well- as I promised I said I would show you two projects I was finishing, and I decided to do a third one while I was down there. When the kiddo is playing well- it's time to take full advantage! So- there are two of them for the daring cardmakers blogs. One is last weeks dare to include a fish or a frog into your card. This weeks challenge is to incorporate circles into your card. I think I will be doing a few of these! I also did an anniversary card. I made all of these with my cricut expression. The two cartridges I used were Planin Schoolbook and Potpourri Basket. It's fun! I have to say- its nice to have my craft stuff set up in a specific area where I don't have to constantly set up and take down.

Anxious to get moving!
Well- I just wanna post a bit before I head to my craft room. I had dreamed about all the beautiful stuff I want to create and had to share with my readers. I also just looked at the daring cardmakers dare for the week- and it's circles! I'm daring myself to do two of them. I will first finish the ones I promised to post today. Happy Friday to all!
I need to use the wet/dry vac to clean up the leakage in the basement from the aweful rainfall we had last night. Its all icy on the roads now. Good thing I'll be cooped up in my craft room!
See you all soon with two of my finished projects!

2 projects started... just need to finish...
Well- I was able to play with my E today. I started an Anniversary card, and a fish card for the Daring Cardmakers blog. I should have them done tomorrow... I am thinking of a good saying for the fish card... I think something along the lines of... Gone fishing? Haven't heard from you in a while. Miss you.
Any ideas?
Hopefully tomorrow I can post pics.
PS- sorry this blog was so late today... I was whisked off of my feet yesterday by my wonderful husband who decided to take me on a overnite getaway to beautiful Green Bay. It was great. I'm not denying it!

Craft room up! Still needs fine tuning...
Well- here are some pictures of the room from beginning to almost the end. I have some fine tuning to do yet- especially when I start working on stuff down there. Its nothing fancy- but it's the space I need to get the job done! I posted the pictures backwards- so the one on the bottom is the beginning, and the one on the top is the end. Sorry for the confusion! Still understanding this blog stuff yet!

To Organize or not to Organize....
Day 1 of my blog is down- and I know I had at least one reader. I guess that's an ok start! :) My goal this week is to get all of my scrapbooking stuff down into the basement- and set up nicely. I hope my favorite helper comes over today to help me with that. It's always more fun to have company over helping with something they enjoy doing too. As you can see- I have added 1 blog that I am following- her work is AMAZING! I hope to be as good as her! Her workspace is amazing too. If you can- check her out! Her blog name is Paper Trail.
I would like to go to Michaels today to get myself some of the beautiful organization techniques that they suggest... Let's hope I can at least do that! It's alot to juggle with a 13 month old at home and bringing a 6 year old to school!

First Day on- bear with me!

Hello all! Thank you for visiting my blog! I decided to get into this because I love crafting and blogging... What a perfect way to combine the two! I will definately be revamping as soon as I learn a little more about all of this! I've always wanted to do this- but never found out how.
First- I should introduce myself.
My name is Jen Young. I live in Plymouth, WI. I just recently got into craft shows because I love scrapbooking, card making and other paper crafts. I have two beautiful children and another on the way. Cassie is going to be 7 in March of 2009, and Alex just turned 1 year in January 2009. My husband Adam is very supportive of my crafts, and thinks I should charge each item on how long it takes me to make. Maybe someday- but first I need some followers! :)
I have always wanted to have a scrapbooking get together at my house. I'm always afraid it may not turn how I want it to. I guess I can't knock it til I try it.
Well- if anyone has any questions or comments- leave a comment and I will do my best to answer! Thanks for the support!
PS- I am going to try to get a guestbook started... If you see one- please sign it! Even if you are just passing by! That way I know whether or not this blog is worth my time- or even yours! Thank You!
Jen
